Claus, I supposse that if your are deveoping with Java on the client your making client-server apps with Swing or SWT/JFace on the client...that's no problem since your audience will be your customer in a LAN or something like that where you can distribute your client.

I think we are talking about diferents scenarios.

what i'm trying to say is that java is not only a server side
technology. it's also a client side technology. i use it everyday on
the client side, for example for homebanking. there are a lot of java
vm's out there and not just one. i have the choice. no matter what
system i have running here, i have access to java. this is not the
case for flash. we are 100% dependent on adobe, it's seriously borked
eulas, and it's expensive licensing plans.
