Well, I don't think the synthesis is the problem either. I think the point is more to actually emulate the sid's sound, and all these not really registered or "illegal" instructions it can handle. Also, I am having problems finding some good source material on this.

Implementing the SID shouldn't be too hard..the synthesis stuff is fairly straightforward.
