well, after long deliberation, thought and a tiny calculator, I've decided I'll go with the Dell.

The deciding factor was running FlashDevelop (as Keith Peters pointed out) so that we could go head's done on the flash wiki project.

Mac's UI is just not that great, and the company is kinda flaky, so I just rather go with a natural leading technology.  Plus, extreme heat to the lap can cause sterility.  Might be good for some, but not for all.  I guess that's why mac users get all "hot and bothered" about what to buy (mac or pc).  Makes sense now.

of course, buying a dell means I'll be able to save the world from conformity (IE: spending money on good marketing efforts with little return)

AND FOR THOSE OF YOU ABOUT TO PUT A HIT OUT ON ME FOR BUYING A DELL - I'M KIDDING!!! Keith put me up to it ;)

So that brand new Acer core duo laptop you just had at the April hot shots seminars is gathering dust?
Such a shame... :-)

Hey Edwin,

I got a Mac Book pro 3 months ago and my windows machine has been
catching dust ever since.
I got mine a little while ago and I can say the same. I wish I could
say that I should have switched sooner but that's not the case -- the
Intel Macs made all the difference for me. Switching was a breeze
thanks to Parallels and I am still amazed every time I switch between
OS X/Windows and Linux at the touch of a key and they all run much
better than Windows did on my PC.

Mac/OS X definitely isn't perfect but nothing is. In terms of coming
close, yeah it is. I really can't explain the difference it has made
in my daily life. I'm just a happier person :)
