I'll keep AsWing compatible with FP 7. :)
And when we released 1.0, we may start a new version to only support FP9. :)

I would strongly vote for Flash 7 compatibility as well.
At least split the project into 2 branches: one compatible with Flash 7 and
another with Flash 9. This will give people who need Flash 7 compatibility a
rather mature framework.
It will be understandable if all the new "cool" features will be developed
in AsWing9.

I'd urge keeping FP7 compatibility, unless it is creating lots of extra
work. As one example Flash Lite 2 is basically Flash 7 (*). As another
example I believe the gnash player is aiming for Flash 7 (being open
source means it could be embedded in other apps).
