I saw this too,I don't think this has as much to do with RTMP in general, but more so the actual encryption keys. Still scary though. I suspect they are simply trying to make sure people don't rip protected RTMP streams from their paying customers.
Lets call it: Keeping the illusion up there is such as thing as non- rippable content. Once people realize if a video is displayed on a monitor, it can be recorded this would probably no longer be an issue. Reminds me of the time the HD DVD encryption key ended up on digg, which caused a bit of a revolt.
It's idiotic, because this implies a semi-random sequence of bytes can be copyrighted.
On a completely different note, I was wondering if it's legal to change my last name into:
0x47, 0x65, 0x6e, 0x75, 0x69, 0x6e, 0x65, 0x20, 0x41, 0x64, 0x6f, 0x62, 0x65, 0x20, 0x46, 0x6c, 0x61, 0x73, 0x68, 0x20, 0x4d, 0x65, 0x64, 0x69, 0x61, 0x20, 0x53, 0x65, 0x72, 0x76, 0x65, 0x72,

0x6f, 0xab, 0x93, 0xb8, 0xe6, 0x36,
0xcf, 0xeb, 0x31, 0xae
I gave my cat the following name:
0x47,0x65,0x6E,0x75,0x69,0x6E,0x65,0x20,0x41,0x64,0x6F,

And I enjoy giving things names that are difficult to pronounce. What do you think?
