loading a wavefront .obj file is there a way to make the plugin consider the normals to be all on the same side/direction/orientation? As far as I understand they are built considering the order the vertexes define a face, so if two adiacent faces are described with clockwise vertexes and counterclockwise vertexs, they'll have opposite normals, and so different shading.
