Sorry for another mail that does not contain anything about OSG.

But I can't resist since the word "headers" was mentioned in the "Migrating to Forum" thread.

After the OSG mailinglist changed from <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to <osg-users@lists.openscenegraph.org> my mail client has complained a bit (Opera mail-client). I think I've tracked it down in the mail header.

The reason is that the "List-Id:"-element in the header does not comply with RFC standards.

The current header looks like this:

List-Id: "OpenSceneGraph Users" <osg-users-openscenegraph.org>

But I think it should be changed to this:

List-Id: "OpenSceneGraph Users" <osg-users.lists.openscenegraph.org>

I.e. the format: list-label "." list-id-namespace

Where, list-label: a list label (osg-users)
       list-id-namespace: domain-name (lists.openscenegraph.org)

The disadvantage to change the List-Id is:

1. Some sofisticated mail-clients could recognize the list as a different list.

The advantages is:

1. It will comply to RFC 2919
   http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2919.txt

2. My (and potentially others) mail-clients (that strictly utilize RFC standards) will be more happy.

Comments?
