Vincent is right. Intellisense is now working for me. I *did* restart, so perhaps that's what fixed my problems (this is, after all, a windows machine). I still have the OpenSceneGraph.ncb file that was generated when I built OSG and I presume that VS needs this file, but I'm not sure where to put it or how to configure my environment for this.
