Some testing:
Card : ATI Radeon X800 XT
Stock Drivers : Catalyst 6.2 (OpenGL 6.14.10.5646)
OS : Windows 2K
CPU/RAM : 2.8GHz P4, 512MB RAM
Test 1 : osgviewer cow.osg, with wireframe mode enabled
Test 2 : osgviewer cow.osg, with Task manager to show CPU usage
Test 3 : osgsimulation (zoomed out)
Test 4 : osgviewer, osgconv --compressed, osgviewer (f360 model from http://www.psionic3d.co.uk/)
I have a (990K) Zip archive of images; initially this was attached to the mail, but the server bounced it for size reasons.
Admittedly, the tests are simple, but it seems that the hotfix works as advertised. The spinlock issues are gone, and the mipmap issue is also gone. The wireframe issue is also gone (although I think that went a while ago).
