            Looking the in the freetype header
 directory I see fterrfed.h and 
            fterrors.h but no fterrid.h.  Running
 with Debian (sarge). The freetype 
        
        - Ignored:
            package is libfreetype6-dev.
  I think this is the latest version for sarge.
            
            Does one need
 to go to the freetype source and build the llibrary from 
            scratch?

Seem to be missing a header file when compiling OpenSceneGraph..
