Hi Go over to Modsim.org they have had a couple of these poles
Creator still wins over most in the sim world but a lot of that is a legacy need Openflight is pretty much dying or dead its market penetration is sinking faster than the titanic, MPI are trying to revive OFLT as the an interchange format ( seriously they are ), which I find rather amusing as OFLT is NOT an interchange format. OFLT is a good modeling format but it is very poor as run-time format and is stupid to use it as an Interchange format, Plus MPI do not supply any code or loaders for any one other than their own runtime Vega Prime Sketch-up and Collada formats are likely to win as defacto interchange format IMO and that's what we are seeing from our large customer base... But also remember you get the best performance out of using native Scenegraph binary formats such as IVE etc... I'm interested to know what 3D modeling tools everybody is using (who uses OpenSceneGraph). I'd like to see who is using?: Multigen Creator 3D Studio Max Maya SketchUp Blender (I know I'm missing a bunch) Has there been a poll like this?
