For my self I find it very useful to be able to grab source with already generated docs, many open source projects tend provide
just source zip source + doc zips, But to me even then 14mb is nothing today if I was on dial up then I might mind Best Regards Gordon __________________________________________________________ Gordon Tomlinson Email : gordon.tomlinson @ overwatch.com YIM/AIM: Gordon3dBrit MSN IM : Gordon3dBrit @ 3dSceneGraph.com __________________________________________________________ Telephone (Cell): (+1) 214-477-8914 Telephone (Work): (+1) 703-437-7651 "Self defence is not a function of learning tricks but is a function of how quickly and intensely one can arouse one's instinct for survival" - Master Tambo Tetsura -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of David Callu Sent: Monday, May 28, 2007 9:08 AM To: osg users Subject: Re: [osg-users] Re: OpenSceneGraph-1.9.6 release made Hi robert If the documentation could be generate from source, there are no reason to put it in the zip archive. - because like you say, its size is greater than the source itself. - because the Doxyfile needed for generate the documentation is give with the package. - because everyone could generate the documentation like he want. Personally I add the source code to the input and I generate all protected and private function, this is a good way to learn OSG from the source code (this is the OSG philosophy, "learn from source"). - because this documentation could be "GENERATE" so why don't use this avantage. - because If a coder don't know use Doxygen, it's probably a good think that he learn howto generate the code. - because if OSG is just use like a dependancy, the documentation is useless. The alternative could be to provide another zip with all the documentation. Best Regards David Callu
