I have tried to build the plugin myself, and, in fact, you need to
specify the full pathname to the OpenVRML library, not only the
directory for the OPENVRML_LIBRARY variable.

For example, mine contains:

OPENVRML_LIBRARY /opt/openvrml-0.14.3/lib/libopenvrml.so

However, even though the plugin compiles, I am always getting an error
message from the viewer that it couldn't find the correct plugin. Both
the osgPlugins and my OpenVRML directories are in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH
and other plugins are working, so I am really puzzled what is wrong.
