+1, the same feeling.
I wish that in the future, OSGi DevCon can come China, :)
Thanks

Hi Felix,
Unfortunately I don't have the resources to go to your presentation :)
Really unfortunate. The slides will certainly be available after the
OSGi DevCon and as BJ said, we are preparing an early access draft
of the spec update.
Reading the RFP-150 I missed something important. A good
explicitly way to support multi-tenancy applications, I mean, the
ability to have different context paths and get different
HttpSession using the same HttpService.
When I was researching about that subject I found interesting
discussions here [1] and here [2].
That discussion shows that there is a difference in how Felix and
Equinox have implemented its Http Service support.
I think that this subject would be cleared in the new spec.
Would like to hear your opinion about that.
At the time the original spec was writting, the Servlet Spec was
kind of in its infancy (Servlet API 2.1). The update aims to clarify
the relation ship between the HttpContext and the ServletContext
(there is a 1:1 mapping) and HttpSession support.
Hope this helps for now.
Regards
Felix

Cristiano

Yes. And at OSGi DevCon in Boston I am going to present these
changes [1] ;-)

Yes, there is an update planned. There should be an early
access draft including the proposed HttpService changes
released soon for comment.

Subject: [osgi-dev] OSGi Http Service Spec improvement ?
Sent by: [email protected]
<mailto:[email protected]>
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
Could someone inform me if there is any improvement planned
for OSGi
HttpService?
Specifically I would like to use servlet 3 features
(filters, listeners,
context, etc) in my OSGi application.
thanks
Cristiano
