Bahrain liberalises business rules for Gulf nationals By Mohammad Almezel, Bureau Chief Manama: Gulf nationals can participate in nearly every aspect of Bahrain's economy, according to a royal decree just issued by King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa. The decree comes two days before the 25th GCC summit. Previously, GCC nationals needed a Bahraini partner to set up a business. The decree specifies a list of business activities that will remain closed to foreigners in Bahrain. They include: pilgrimage services, manpower agencies, real estate agencies, newspapers and car rental companies. Sources told Gulf News the summit might opt to speed up the adoption of a single currency from the previously agreed date of 2010 to 2007.
