Based on evidence before Central Local Court, Magistrate Michael Price found a reasonable Supreme Court jury could convict Faheem Khalid Lodhi, 35, of planning to bomb Sydney's electricity grid and defence sites. Former baggage handler Bilal Khazal, 35, was also committed after a hearing at the same court. He will face a charge of making a document likely to facilitate terrorism. Strict security arrangements were in place for Lodhi's trip to court after his reclassification this week as the country's first high-risk terrorist inmate. The AA rating means Lodhi can now only be transported from his high-security prison by helicopter, and must be accompanied by a guard. Lodhi - who faces a life sentence if convicted - was yesterday flown to a secret landing spot before being taken by private van to the courthouse, a Corrective Services spokesman said. The Crown alleges that in 2001 Lodhi acted "in an apparent official capacity" at a Pakistan training camp run by terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Toiba. In 2003, the Punchbowl architect allegedly assisted French terror suspect Willie Brigitte on his arrival in Sydney. The court heard Lodhi and Brigitte were in regular contact before the Frenchman was deported to his home country in 2003. Lodhi did not wear handcuffs in the dock, but five Corrective Services officers were present in court. Lodhi wore prison greens during the court hearing, then donned orange overalls like those worn by Guantanamo Bay inmates and was escorted to a waiting van. Asked by Mr Price whether he wished to say anything in relation to the nine charges he faces under new counter-terrorism laws, Lodhi replied: "No thank you".
