Preparedness Institute (NTPI) at St. Petersburg College (SPC)
presents Live Response.  Live Response is a 60-minute live
discussion in which a panel of experts explores topics related
to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) consequence management and
engages in question and answer sessions with the program
audience.

 

"The Citizen Corps Councils "

 

The Citizen Corps mission is accomplished through a national
network of state, local and tribal Citizen Corp Councils.  These
Councils build on community strengths to implement the Citizen
Corps programs and will carry out a local strategy to have every
American participate.

 

Live Response guests will discuss the importance of leadership,
the different types of hazards communities face, and how a
Citizen Corps Council can enhance and manage a community's
volunteer resources.  

 

Live Response expert guests welcome viewer questions concerning
Citizen Corps Councils and invite viewers to call, e-mail, or
fax their questions during the broadcast.

2.  Target Audiences:   The primary target audience includes
federal, state, and local law enforcement, fire service,
emergency medical services (EMS), emergency management, and
public works.  Secondary audiences for this program include
federal, state, and local police academies, university police,
military police/security units, military emergency preparedness
officials, sheriff's offices and public health officials.

3.  Sponsors:    Live Response is a recurring bi-monthly
videotaped satellite broadcast offering Weapons of Mass
Destruction (WMD) related awareness information to the nation's
civilian and military emergency response communities.  Live
Response is the product of an interagency program effort from
the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), bringing together the
Office for Domestic Preparedness (ODP) and Federal Emergency
Management Agency's (FEMA's) Emergency Education NETwork
(EENET).  Live Response is produced by the National Terrorism
Preparedness Institute, a division of the Southeastern Public
Safety Institute at St. Petersburg College, St. Petersburg,
Florida.  Additional support is provided by the US Army
Satellite Education Network (SEN) at Ft. Lee, Va.

 

4. Availability:  This FREE, public domain, videotaped program
will be available as scheduled on C/KU analog satellite
downlinks and on the Military/Federal GETN digital satellite
networks.  A live webcast will also be available at  
http://terrorism.spcollege.edu   All programs are archived and
available for viewing from the website using Windows Media
Player.  GETN/Convergent digital satellite downlinks are found
at selected military and federal installations at over 1200
located in the US.  Other federal and private satellite networks
may also carry this program.  In addition, the program may be
available to a limited number of non-satellite capable military
and federal sites via VTC terrestrial relay.  Local site use
coordination of satellite downlinks will be required.
