http://www.gulfnews.com/world/United_Kingdom/10074389.html Policewoman died in 'callous' shooting Reuters Newcastle: Policewoman Sharon Beshenivsky died in a "deliberate, callous and unnecessary" shooting, the trial of five men charged with her murder heard at its opening yesterday. Beshenivsky was gunned down last November as she and a female colleague were called to a robbery at a Bradford travel agency. Prosecutor Robert Smith told Newcastle Crown Court that Beshenivsky and her partner Teresa Milburn had been near the end of their shift when they received the emergency call. Within minutes of arriving both had been shot, Beshenivsky fatally, with Milburn badly wounded. Smith said the shooting was "deliberate, callous and unnecessary and done with the clear intention to kill. Both officers were shot in the chest at close range." One of the men charged with Beshenivsky's murder, Muzzaker Shah, has already pleaded guilty, but the four other defendants - brothers Faisal and Hassan Razzaq, Yusuf Jama, and Raza Aslam - all deny killing the 38-year-old. Shah, 25, who has also admitted various firearms charges, is also charged with the attempted murder of Milburn, which he denies. Smith said the robbery was conducted by a gang of seven, five of whom were in court. Police are still seeking the remaining two members, Yusuf Jama's brother Mustaf and a man known to the gang as "Uncle", believed to be the mastermind of the robbery.
