Dubai Ports wants to bid for 49.9 pct stake in Hamburg port - report 12.12.06, 3:04 AM ET FRANKFURT (AFX) - Dubai Ports World wants to make a bid for the 49.9 pct stake in Hamburg port operator Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA), according to Die Welt, citing a spokeswoman for Dubai Ports World. The newspaper, citing sources, said the most promising candidate is Germany's state-owned railway Deutsche Bahn AG. It said around 30 bids are expected to be formally submitted to the city state of Hamburg by today. From January 2007, Hamburg city -- which will retain the remaining 50.1 pct stake in HHLA -- plans to start negotiations with around 10-15 interested parties.
