OIC backs Kazakhstan to join WTO executive committee Organization of the Islamic Conference called on all Muslim countries to support Kazakhstan's bid to act as a member of the executive committee of the World Tourism Organization during 2007-2011, said the Kazakh Foreign Ministry on Monday. The OIC also appealed to the countries to back Kazakhstan in its efforts to host the 18th general assembly of the WTO in 2009, the ministry said in a statement. Kazakhstan joined the 57-member OIC in 1995. The Islamic Development Bank, the OIC's subordinate, set up a branch agency in Almaty, the biggest city in Kazakstan. +++ ------------------------ Yahoo!
