No surprise there, CNN has always been the slime-news network of note. B http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=ZjkxN2ZhYTNhYjhkN2E3ZTE1N2Y5ZmE5Yzl lYWM2MGE=
October 21, 2008 <http://www2.nationalreview.com/images/blog_dotted_divider.gif> CNN's Rank Dishonesty [Rich Lowry <mailto:comments.lowry%40nationalreview.com> ] Watch this clip <http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/238832.php> from a CNN interview with Sarah Palin (I'm assuming nothing of significance has been edited out by TPM). And then read the context of the quote from Byron's favorable story on how Palin governed from an issue <http://nrd.nationalreview.com/article/?q=NzVlNmZmMWQ3YjFkZmNkMjliNTRjNjIwY2 Y1NDA0NzM=> ago: Watching press coverage of the Republican candidate for vice president, its sometimes hard to decide whether Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward, or or, well, all of the above. Palin, the governor of Alaska, has faced more criticism than any vice-presidential candidate since 1988, when Democrats and the press tore into Dan Quayle. In fact, Palin may have it even worse than Quayle, since shes taking flak not only from Democrats and the press but from some conservative opinion leaders as well.... Yes, there are legitimate concerns about Palins lack of experience. Who wouldnt, at the very least, wish that she had more time in the governors office on her résumé? But a look at Palins 20 months in power, along with interviews with people who worked with her, shows her to be a serious executive, a governor who picked important things to do and got them done and who didnt just stumble into an 80 percent job-approval rating. I'm disgusted, but not surprised. UPDATE: TPM updates <http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/238832.php> to note CNN distorted the quote. Also, Im told the full interview included this from the interviewer (although I havent seen it yet): "But they were talking about the fact that your experience as governor is not getting out. Do you feel trapped in this campaign that your message is not getting out and if so who do you blame?"
