Too bad it's not true.

NICOSIA - Iran has assessed that its elite military force has been targeted
by Western agencies.

Iranian sources said the regime of President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad concluded
that the United States and other Western intelligence services were
targeting Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The sources said the CIA, Britain's MI-6 and Israel's Mossad were believed
to be cooperating in attacks on IRGC bases in both eastern and western Iran.

"The rash of recent attacks appear coordinated and can't be explained away
as a coincidence," an Iranian source said. "We believe we will have evidence
of this soon."

On Oct. 12, at least 18 IRGC officers were killed in a blaze at a munitions
warehouse at the Imam Ali base near Iraq. The explosion, which took place in
the Lorestan province near the capital Khorramabad, also injured 14 others.

IRGC commander Brig. Gen. Yadollah Bouali said the arsenal was torched and
then exploded. Bouali did not elaborate.

This marked the fourth attack on IRGC in as many months. The strikes
included the killing of Iranian officers near the borders with Afghanistan,
Iraq, Pakistan and Turkey.

IRGC has blamed Britain and the United States for organizing these attacks
with a range of opposition groups. The military cited the Sunni group Jund
Allah as well as the Kurdish insurgency.

"We know that they have been training the terrorists and providing them with
equipment," the Iranian source said.
