January 17, 2011 Marxist Terrorist Trial Starts in Athens, Greece Suspected Greek Marxists Anarchists on Trial <http://waronterrornews.typepad.com/.a/6a00e551d9d3fd88330148c7b4684f970c-po pup> EuropeVoA News: Nine suspected members of a Greek Marxist anarchist group appeared in court Monday on charges of belonging to a terrorist organization that has claimed responsibility for a series of bomb attacks. Officials say four other suspects will be tried in absentia. All are charged with belonging to a group known as the Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei <http://slackbastard.anarchobase.com/?p=1703> . The trial opened under heavy security at a maximum security prison in Athens. The defendants interrupted the proceedings to protest the police checking the identification of everyone attending the trial. The Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei said it was behind a spate of mail bombings in November that targeted government buildings, embassies and politicians, as well as the bombing of an Athens courthouse in December. Officials say none of the bombs caused serious injuries. If convicted, the defendants face up to 25 years in prison.
