Man extradited to Denmark for Mohammed cartoon plot <http://www.icenews.is/index.php/2011/04/06/man-extradited-to-denmark-for-mo hammed-cartoon-plot/> Posted on06 April 2011. A man arrested in Sweden in connection to a plot to bomb the Danish newspaper that printed cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed will face trial in Denmark. Tunisian Sabhi Zalouti, 37, will be extradited after the ruling of a Swedish court on Monday. Zalouti was arrested in Stockholm in December last year with two alleged accomplices, both of who are Swedish citizens. It is thought that the three plotted to kill staff at the Jyllands-Posten newspaper, which published 12 controversial drawings of the holy Muslim Prophet Mohammed in 2005. "Sabhi Zalouti will be sent to Denmark for legal proceedings in accordance to the European arrest order Denmark's justice ministry put out on March 9, 2011," the Attunda district court in the Stockholm suburb of Sollentuna said in its decision. According to the court documents, Zalouti agreed to the extradition on the promise that he could serve any subsequent jail term in Sweden. He is now awaiting trial in Denmark on charges of attempted terrorism.
