AirTrain JFK Is Vulnerable to Terror Attack Updated: Friday, 08 Apr 2011, 6:33 PM EDT Published : Friday, 08 Apr 2011, 4:13 PM EDT By NEW YORK POST NYPOST.COM | NEWSCORE - <http://www.panynj.gov/airports/jfk-airtrain.html> John F. Kennedy Airport's AirTrain is one of New York's most vulnerable terror targets, the executive vice president of the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association said Friday. "It's unmanned and unpoliced," Robert Morris told a state Senate hearing. Especially vulnerable is the enclosed area near Terminal 4, which houses many international airlines -- including El Al, the biggest Israeli airline and a longtime terror target. Morris gave the New York State Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs a list of what he said were four terror-threatened areas around the region that ought to be better patrolled by Port Authority officers. "We tried to handle this internally," but Port Authority brass did not act, Morris said. He said his submission was private -- but Sen. Greg Ball (R-Westchester) asked publicly about the AirTrain. "This is the type of thing that should have been exposed years ago," Ball said after the hearing. "We should have uniformed people on that transportation corridor. We don't in any way," he said.
