Terror suspect enters guilty plea in NC case

By TOM BREEN, Associated Press - 1 hour ago

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina man who was charged along with his
father and brother has pleaded guilty to being part of a terrorist
conspiracy.

The U.S. attorney's office said Tuesday that 22-year-old Zakariya "Zak" Boyd
pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to provide material support to
terrorists. He faces up to 15 years in prison.

Boyd, his father, brother and more than a half-dozen other men were arrested
nearly two years ago and accused of plotting to supply money, training and
other services to support terrorism.

Boyd's father, Daniel Boyd, pleaded guilty in February to charges stemming
from the case. His brother and the other men who were arrested are scheduled
to go on trial in September.
