Hi, John, et al...
While the book "Future Search in School District Change" is obviously
designed to describe how future search has been a part of school
district change, you will find that several of the chapters provide
insights that may be useful as you think about using open space in your
situation. In particular, parts 3 and 4 focus on "Growing Community
Partnerships" and "Beyond the District."
The chapter I co-authored refers to a particular community partnership
that has its origins in some future search work 15 years ago, but which
also included Open Space meetings in the early days (Remember our friend
Diane Bennett, Harrison?) and now the particular partnership which is
most well developed has been using Open Space for its annual retreats
for the last 5 years, as well as using it in other settings.
Hope this helps.

Friends,
I'm working with a highly motivated and well-connected
planning committee toward building a "school and
community partnership" in Pottstown, PA, which is a
suburb of Philadelphia. They are dealing with
challenges of violence, high drop-out rates, substance
abuse, and crime.
