Thought I would share some introductory work that is being done in Hong Kong.  This is a first of several public programs which I will be running to allow people to experience an Open Space program on a significant issue.  Insights and suggestions are appreciated.

Regards,

Mark

In this program we will use the process of Open Space to explore the issues and opportunities in Creating a Culture of Service Excellence in Hong Kong.

Creating a Culture of Service Excellence
is a challenge being faced by many organizations in Hong Kong. Being in a “service economy”, organizations have consciously worked on building service excellence into their culture. What have been the practices that they have used? What has been their experience? What is being called for in the future? How can these lessons be applied in other organizations?

We have invited people from a range of these companies and interested colleagues to come together and share their practices and learnings. The meeting will be created by the programme participants around questions and topics that they have identified.
Open Space Technology is an innovative meeting process that allows a group to self structure around an agenda which it has created. It uses passion and responsibility to allow participants to expand their perspectives and determine their commitment. Originally developed by Harrison Owen, it is now utilized in a wide range of corporate and governmental meetings. It is uniquely flexible allowing a large group of people (30 –300) to interact effectively and develop understanding.

The schedule will be as follows:
· 9:30 – 9:45 Registration at Main Entrance
· 9:45 – 10:00 Group Escort to Training Rooms
· 10:00 – 10:30 Program Introduction and Schedule
· 10:30 – 12:30 Rounds One and Two
· 12:30 – 2:00 Lunch (at the Cathay Pacific Food Arcarde)
· 2:00 – 4:00 Rounds Three and Four
· 4:00 – 4:30 Closing Circle
*Pre-registration is required to ensure security clearance at the Cathay Pacific Inflight Services Training Center. (This is a great opportunity to check out Cathay City and the training center.)

This program is organized by The Facilitators Forum in Hong Kong and The Institute of Cultural Affairs. Sponsorship is generously provided by Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd.
