Hi, Carpe.

I don't have your email, so this is going to the list. Apologies to those
who aren't interested.

I'm Michael. I work for the Tax Office here in the Land of Oz. Harrison Owen
came over some months back and spoke to us about the possibility of using OS
to get a grip on what the *real* 'relationship' and communication issues
are - and hopefully take steps to resolve them. Alas, because we've made
wholesale federal tax changes in the last couple of years, this sort of
thing is still largely on our 'to do' list.

I am particularly interested to see how you go with the likely enforcement
'versus' education/cooperation debate, which has had a high profile with us
ever since we started seriously donning a 'behaviouralists' cap. On an
optimistic note, it's turned out that some of our biggest champions of this
approach were the formerly sceptical, hard-line auditors who 'saw the
light'. We're about getting the carrot/stick balance right with every
taxpayer (er, human being) we deal with.

I'd love to hear how you go with your group - please let me know.

Ciao.

PS pls note that my email address is at anu.edu.au - not ato.gov.au - as I
am outposted here this year.
