To me it appears to be a logical extension of the work of Kurt Lewin (1940's - group type work), Reg Revins (1950's ? -action learning/research), Experiential learning/ Group dynamics - 1960's, Encounter groups/T Groups - 1960's/1970's, The client centred therapies of Carl Rogers, The Gestalt work of Fritz Perls & so on.
