Dear OS List Friends,

On behalf of the OSI(US) Board, I m excited to extend this invitation to
participate in VOSonVOS I the first (we think) Virtual Open Space on
Virtual Open Space. We invite you to consider being part of the Design
Team, the Advisory Group and/or to be a participant in this online event.
The Design Team will work online and via conference call starting this week.

This is a very interesting initiative.

But there are some problems: if the intention is to have only
an on-line event (whit boards and messages sent on-line) the
participation will be restricted to countries where telephone
calls are free or to people from Institutions - namely Universities
and Public Sector - where Internet is free and unrestricted.

I would advise the design team to create ways for everything
to be distributed also as e-mails.

On the other hand, even the fact that the subscription is online (and
comments will be for the most part private) doesn't allow for free comments
of OSlist members, thus inhibiting a more open (space) discussion of opinions.

At last, I can't see why to have the telephone number of subscribers is
important for accepting a subscription. After all this a virtual conference,
isn't it?

Good look and regards

Artur
