So far as I know -- Novartis is using Open Space internally for planning and
project implementation. Presumably those who come will be those who care and
are also Novartis employees.

I had the same problems - no mails since 18th 20.36.
Now that the list seems to flow again (I hope) I send this once again...

Subject: Re: [Fwd: Novartis] & Ethics

Hi - I've only just read this thread today after 2 weeks of being offline - sorry for the delay...

I'm wondering whether Novartis is inviting those human beings too who are not in favour of genetic engineering as the ultimate solution?
Would anyone of those who are involved with this company care to tell something about this side of the coin?
Thank you

I may add one more question:
Especially the companies and scientists known to be active in the field of genetic engineering condemned the past & ongoing discussion on the topic as an 'emotional' one, meaning: not objective and thus invalid. How come they i.e. at least Novartis is applying a method known to thrive on people's passion which seems to look like double standards? Or has something major changed as to what is good for the world's future?

I'm looking forward to some enlightenment about the issue.

kind regards ~ Ilse, Hamburg

Christine Roess is doing an OS with them in August.  They've just ordered a bunch of copies of the User's Guide for the event.  I forwarded Michael's message to Christine.

I will contact him directly -- AND -- it seems that Novartis has adopted OS as the "official" way to hold a meeting (whatever that means?) My friend Christine Roess has been a consultant to them for some time -- and I hold her totally responsible for what ever happens. I guess something is happening as I was invited to spend a day with senior management in someplace talking about Open Space. Doesn't seem to be panning out as they want to do this in August, and I don't go ANYWHERE in August, Maine being just about the most wonderful place to be right then.
