This is a remarkable journey. More importantly, I think it may just take the notion of "training" to a new and better level. Thanks for enriching us all! And -- when you catch your breath (get some sleep), I would really be interested in knowing what you thought was going to happen versus what actually happened. And what did you learn from that.

We are now in the final stage of the training on Friday morning. The participants of each of the 10 "travel groups" are writing notes to each other to say farewell. In a few minutes they will have time to reflect individually on their further journey as open space-facilitators. The training will close with a 45 minute dialog reflecting the past week, handing out of certificates of participation and a farewell ceremony. Our last report took you through Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday were filled with 8 groups (random groups allowing for new constellations with sparse prior contacts) planning an open space on the topic "I, open space facilitator", one of the teams being selected to actually actively take on the roles of sponsor, facilitator, assistant, helper. The other teams provided feedback to the active team in a structured exercise. Action planning was carried through by another team yet , followed by the same feed back process. Some of the 10 issues under the theme "I, open space-facilitator": -self employed os-facilitator, how? -how to deal with space invasions -practicing the introduction -holding space in conflict - - Some of the 19 action plans (yes, 19 action plans with no prior prioritization) at the end of "I, open space-facilitator" -founding an initiative for open space with the hearing impaired -open space at the University -founding of the group "Young Berlin os-group" -going independent -the os-foundation -learning exchange on action planning in open space -installing a mailing list - - Now, Friday noon, the group said farewell with items they want to put into their suitcases for their ongoing journey, with gifts (T-shirts for all the of the sponsors, the training team), warm rain ceremony and walking off in all directions leaving the group behind. Packing, cleaning up and after lunch an invitation from the kitchen and catering crew to sit with the Training Team to find out what this open space thing is all about. Greetings from an exciting, fulfilling week with 59 trained os-facilitators swarming out all over. jo and mmp -- Jo Toepfer, boscop Tel: +49-30-42018000 Fax: +49-30-69088159 http://www.joconsult.de * * ========================================================== osl...@listserv.boisestate.edu ------------------------------ To subscribe, unsubscribe, change your options, view the archives of osl...@listserv.boisestate.edu, Visit: http://listserv.boisestate.edu/archives/oslist.html * * ========================================================== osl...@listserv.boisestate.edu ------------------------------ To subscribe, unsubscribe, change your options, view the archives of osl...@listserv.boisestate.edu, Visit: http://listserv.boisestate.edu/archives/oslist.html
