I think the case can be made that OSONOS in all of its iterations has never
really been a "business conference," but rather a gathering of friends and
colleagues coming together to share our selves and our journeys. I have no
intention of doing any business, and definitely no business in India. I am just
coming to hang out with friends and to see some sights-- which I guess is the
definition of a tourist. See you on the beach -- and the beach in Goa is
fantastic!!

Subject: visa issues-- invitation to attend OSonOS

I'm posting this to the list, maybe others have encountered the same problem.
I tried today to apply for an Indian visa to go to OSonOS. As this is an
international conference (going on business), I need a letter of invitation
from an Indian entity, I was told, to apply for a visa.

Is there anyone in India who can provide such an invitation? Who should I
contact?

They also said that a letter of invitation from OSI-USA wouldn't hurt.

How has this been for others?

  Thanks,
  Raffi Aftandelian
