Kerry,

Joelle mentioned the work with the Washington State Arts Commission.  They set 
out to have a conversation about the arts across the state leading to a 
strategic plan with broad support.  They not only got that but fostered 
conversations that never would have happened otherwise, sometimes bringing the 
arts organizations in the community together for the first time.  Thus, they 
not only accomplished their purpose -- a broadly supported plan -- they also 
strengthened the arts community throughout the state by enabling new 
connections and ideas to flourish wherever they went.  WSAC turned themselves 
from a despised agency to a trusted convenor.
