Lucas-- An Open Space conference that I participated in, in Novosibirsk in 2001, was opened by Marina Tyasto with her drum. I've used my own drum to open other kinds of gatherings, but generally use a Tibetan chime for Open Space--I like its gentle but penetrating tone for bringing the group back to the circle.
