Hi, all. Kathleen wrote: < I have a client that I'm doing a 1/2-day OS session with in June in Bismark, ND for about 300 people. In preparing their invitation, they asked if OS has a logo. I've poked around on some of the OS websites and didn't see anything like a logo. I can't imagine that it matters much but told them that I'd ask. I kind of like that I can't find one.> Welcome to the list the process, the community! Open Space is a method, an approach, a process. It's not 'owned' by anyone. So there is no logo per se. But your host team - in co-creating their own logo for the event, the task, the reason for coming together - may benefit two-fold - both in their clarity as they share their thoughts in why they are bringing people together / what they want people to be drawn to join together for, and providing those who are visually-oriented a sense of the spirit for the event. So rather than designing a logo for a process, a method, why not make some great logo describing the energy of your event? Cheers from a rainy Berkeley, Lisa (by the way, when I think of a logo for Open Space, on the one hand I think of a circle, for the circle of people who come together; on the other hand I think of 'nothing' - but by 'nothing' I mean rich, nutrient-filled, sparkling empty space full of potential, waiting for us, the participants, to fill with our topics, our energies, our ideas, our sharing our I could go on and on.) ___________________________ L i s a H e f t Consultant, Facilitator, Educator O p e n i n g S p a c e 2325 Oregon Berkeley, California 94705-1106 USA +01 510 548-8449 lisah...@openingspace.net www.openingspace.net
