Doug...I think you might appreciate The Life of Pi, perhaps even more than
the average reader.

I would highly recommend it to you.  It's magical realism that just
brilliantly shows up the power of story, spirit and bigger things.  It's one
long joke with a deeply profound punchline, so don't skip ahead to the end.
