That link takes you to a photo of a Navajo Elder I was working with recently, who fell in love with the bells, and who held them, and used them, in the closing circle of an Art of Hosting learning we were doing. The way he is holding the bells shows something about the respect Michael H is talking about. This photo, to me, is the complete opposite of what I think of as "appropriation."
