Wonderful - Thank you for the instructions.
The first choice is the one originally requested, and the one I've been soooo
eager to see happen. (As, more me, it is not a matter of filtering emails to
folders, but identifying unknown senders as a member of the OST list ....and
distinguishable from some sender whom I do not know and and an email that I do
not wish to open.

I might suggest that the original instructions for joining the list include
this info on how to have the subject line include the OSLIST identifier.

Thanks sooooo much.lisafloyd

the subject line to include [OSLIST]To: OSLIST@LISTSERV.BOISESTATE.EDUDear all,

As I'd feared, I've already started receiving requests from subscribers to have
their subject line preferences changed. Given the size of the list and the
fact that this change has to be done for each subscriber individually, I'd
appreciate if you would try to take care of this yourself. It's pretty easy.
Here are two options:

1. Visit http://listserv.boisestate.edu/archives/oslist.html

Click on "Join or leave the list (or change settings)"

and then follow the instructions.

OR

2. Set up a filter in your email program to get all your OSLIST mail into a
specific folder. [this is even easier than the previous option]. Those of you
still wondering about Gmail, I'd say, get yourself one, five or ten Gmail
accounts. It's free, it's fast, it's fantastic. It jumps through hoops, brews
great coffee and follows you wherever you go if you carry a smartphone. And it
links with a Calendar program, an online Microsoft Office like suite, Maps, RSS
feed reader, Picasa photos, Blogger, and ten thousand other things that the
geniuses at Google dream up during their 15% free personal time and oodles of
stock options.

And oh, it has a great search function that neatly sends off your mail into a
variety of folder-like buckets.

That's it!

Cheers,

Murli
