Good thoughts Michael! Joe Bidden is a neighbor, so to speak, and for sure at this moment the good old USA needs a lot of Open Space, not unlike many other people in the world. But in this situation, as in similar ones, opening space for the (relatively) small consultative task force that will be convened would be nice but not too probable. And maybe not even all that productive. We have been over this territory many times, and the useful options are pretty clear. I am sure that the group will report back to the President in the month specified and truth to tell, they could report right now, and I don't think there would be much difference. The critical place for Space Opening is all over the country. This could happen any time some good soul cared to do it, and hopefully such souls will rise to the occasion. It doesn't have to be a big deal with mega sponsorship. Anywhere, anyhow, anyone, anytime will do.

Here is the piece which I am sharing with you: "President Obama has proved to also be our "comforter in chief" this week, after the slaughter of the innocents in Newton, Connecticut. We have posted his speech to assembled families in Newtown on our website for all of our members to hear. The President has since declared his support for Senator Feinstein's legislation to restoring the assault weapons ban. He has created a Task Force to be chaired by Vice President Biden to lead the country in a national action plan that addresses issues associated with proliferation of guns, the culture of violence and programs to address mental health. He has our support." Seems to me that our grand approach that is especially effective in complex conflicting situations affecting hugely diverse folks with high pressure and need to act soon would be useful for VP Biden's Task Force as outlined in the excerpt above. Any of you know this fellow or have an effective way of approaching him?
