Although I didn't know Cheryl, I can feel the profound shock wave this has sent through the community. My heart goes out to all who knew her, my condolences at this difficult time, and my love goes with Her spirit.

Friends,

Lucas Cioffi just passed on this very tragic news (which came from the
NCDD list).

A fair number of us knew Cheryl Honey and the approach she had
brought into the world, Community Weaving.

Cheryl, you will remain in my heart.

warmly,

I am so sorry to have to share this news with all of you, and I'm
still a little in shock at this news myself. I found out earlier
today that one of our members and colleagues, Cheryl Honey, was
killed on Wednesday. Cheryl was recently engaged to a man named
Robert Hedgers, and they were living together in Vancouver.
Cheryl and Robert were both found dead in their home on
Wednesday, and yesterday police reported that it was a
murder-suicide. Cheryl was shot in the arm and the chest, and
Robert turned the gun on himself.

There is not a lot of information on this tragedy online, but here
are two articles that provide the basics:

Couple found dead were recently engaged -

Medical Examiner: Couple died in murder-suicide -

As some of you know, Cheryl was the founder of the Family Support
Network International and Community Weaving. She often wrote to
the listserv about community weaving, and many of you met her at
the Seattle conference. She also attended our 2010 regional event
in Portland (she was living in Seattle until recently), and came
down to Austin for our 2008 conference.

Cheryl was a very kind person, and she was dedicated to
encouraging neighbors to connect with one another to share
resources and build local networks of support. I'll paste a
description of Community Weaving below. Cheryl wrote this
description, and we posted it on the NCDD site last year.

I am so sorry to upset any of you with this horrific news, but I
knew many of you would want to know this has happened to Cheryl.
I do not have information at this point about her memorial, or
where cards or donations can be sent. I will let the list know
   when I do.

generates data that informs governing systems where to allocate
funds and upgrade responsiveness to empower the people, as well as
creates a voice of “we the people” on public policy issues using
