Lucas, to me, it’s not about a particular dialogic process, as in ‘what sustains… after OS’. It’s about sustainability, after any dialogic process that was used. Because sustainability is not about World Cafe or Open Space or using graphic thinking, it’s about everything from pre-work to mechanisms for communication post-event to organizational and individual capacity, to whether the event had appropriate / realistic / reasonable expectations in its design, to what else is going on in an organization and community, to what news or surprise or shift in an organization’s environment or resources happens between events, to whether participants actually had true support / mobility / freedom / resources / information / etc. etc. to do things between events… to a million other things.
I am guessing that if people can answer / reflect on lessons-learned with that wider scope of not-just-when-it’s-an-Open-Space-process you’ll perhaps get more diverse and useful information. And then, there is the other part - you mention OS in between events, and I would say virtual or otherwise - again, the tool (process) would be best if it fit the task. Not just any process or the same process in-between things. So linear thinking or quiet time in a project room would require one process / support / resource, idea generation another, pattern seeking several other choices of process, and so on. For different between-meeting tasks, objectives and desired outcomes. Right tool for each task, process included. That’s my observation, anyways. Other folks may have different ways of looking at it… Lisa On Feb 3, 2015, at 1:01 PM, Lucas Cioffi via OSList <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi All, > > What are some effective ways to sustain the progress made in the months after > an OS event?
