I agree, it is my choice to show up or use my two feet to go somewhere else. Still, this seems to me a rather individualistic view. Some thoughts. Maybe participants open spaces for each other, inviting (or not) each other. I think it is a social process, weaving a complex web of relationships. The facilitator, the room set up and the way participants are invited, before and during the meeting, are cruciual preconditions in nursing the development of that social web. And then be prepared to be surprised. Yet, it is still me that opens the space for myself to consciously choose my participation. Now, I am wondering about the importance of providing the people who attend the OST meeting with the concept that the amount of space that they are opening for themselves is their responsibility.
