It the path a physical path, or marked as a path of permanent value for
anybody?
If yes, go for OSM editing by mentioned editors.

It the path is not a physical path, nor marked as a path,
but rather just a personal logical route(planned) or track(passed) of
you interest ?
If yes, keep the OBF map intact and stay with GPX loading/drawing when
needed.
