Roughly speaking, public transport tagging in the UK is largely confined to Greater London, with some for other large cities and inter-city railways. And the majority of what exists is shown as invalid under PT v2. I looked at one of the invalid inter-city routes, and it had been modified within the last two days, so possibly there is an effort to update what has been done so far.
