If you're seeing your current location, then you're right, it doesn't seem like a hardware problem. To answer your question, if you start recording a GPX, you should see your distance traveled next to the red indicator on the GPX button. And if you're set up on My places > tracks > Currently recording track, you should see the track itself as you're recording it.
If no better idea is forthcoming, you might take a look at Plugins > Trip recording > Settings, though I'm not sure if any of these would prevent the track from being recorded. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group.
