And there is the "problem" of battery live. In cycle mode with your screen off, your phone battery lives much longer. OsmAnd will switch on the screen for x seconds (x a setting you can specify) and mention the "go left in 250 meters" or whatever instruction. In that case you know what direction to take and you do not look as often on the screen. Even if you don't want to: with a switched on screen you look more often on the screen than with a black screen. That makes it more safe in traffic. I do have a power bank as well which I connect when my battery is below approx. 25%. (connected to the bike frame with a usb cable along the stem of my bike steer.
