I don't know whether you're using Android or iPhone, or what sort of desktop
system you have. But for OsmAnd on Android, I use GPX files by copying them to
OsmAnd's file space on the Android device. First find where that file space is
(for me, it's /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/net.osmand.plus/files), then
look for a "tracks" folder. Any GPX file that's in tracks will be visible to
OsmAnd from "My Places/Tracks" or from Configure Map/Tracks.

How you copy files onto an Android device depends on your preferences, how your
device is configured and what OS you're using on the machine from which you're
copying the GPX file. I use adb from a Linux machine, but there are other ways
that you might find friendlier.
