Congratulations Steve!
The GSOC mentors have had to keep who was chosen secret until Google
announced who got in officially. It feels good to be able to talk about
it now! :)
Out of all the proposals submitted under OpenStreetMap yours was the
most well received. The main factor was your existing contributions as
it makes it so much more likely that your work will be used instead of
someone that is only starting now.

Other people - please have a look at the wiki page:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code/2010/AcceptedProjects/OpenSatNavImprovements
and make comments and suggestions on the aims and how they can be
achieved. Steve has ambitious goals for this project which is a great
thing but we really need to support him as much as we can.
